Althea's Perfect Gift + Her Annoying Daughter!
Two questions:
First--what IS Althea's perfect gift? I've already given up the feather AND the pearl, and it still says I need to find something more "perfect" for her. I'm beginning to think it's a swift kick in the mouth. MY perfect gift to HER. Second--The daughter, I've given her countless flowers, and even dropped 200g on a cape for her (plus I've found her broken flute), does any of this actually pay off? I mean, she already follows me everywhere, it's not like I had to offer her candy to get her to come into the woods with me. So what's the payoff? Thanks in advance. |

1. You need to get the beautiful pendant, it's in a chest in the pathway through the mountain in between Ascalon and the Abbey.
2. If you give her a new flute as well (not sure if you have) then she will give you a Tapestry Shard, I have no idea what this does. |

Thanks, buddy! I did the pendant, but the flute, she doesn't ask for it. I went and spent the 4 gold for the new flute, but the doesn't say anything to me about it.
Wonder what's up with that! Maybe I'll try re-instancing. She's a greedy RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO! |

Oh, and Gwen's mother is someone called Sarah, not Althea. |

I got lucky with Gwen on my Monk. Didn't let her follow me or anything, just rescued her from the river skale and fed her maybe 4 flowers and she gave me the tapestry shred . Sure glad I didn't blow 200g on a cape!

I've easily given her a dozen flowers! I've found her broken flute, I bought her that damn cape (that she twirls around in now), and I let her follow me around EVERYWHERE, still she won't ask for that new flute nor give me that tapestry shred (or whatever)--I hate her!
I mean, she's like 3' nothing, can't I just, I don't know, rob her!? I did notice however that she plays the broken flute for me from time-to-time, and almost always while I'm fighting, wonder if it does anything for me. Why else would someone let her follow them? What does this tapestry thing do anyway? Will it bring me one step closer to world domination? Otherwise, it wasn't worth the hassle. |

I've heard she heals you for 20 points if you get her the new flute. So, maybe that's what she's doing when she plays it during battle.
Not sure about the tapestry shred, I got it with one char but missed it with the other. |

Yeah, one of the first things you should do after finding her broken flute is to buy her a fixed one. If you watch her ramblings she mentions the flute, and at some point a cape, but I only had to give her the flute and 3 flowers and she gave me the tapestry shred. Also, she does heal you in battle with a fixed flute, and yes it is for 20. It's nice with a warrior to have someone healing you all the time who doesn't take drops from you You can use frenzy without concern.

Yup, she heals you sometimes . After I got the tapestry shred she was asking about a cape so I bought her one but I didn't get anything extra for it...Oh well .
She's followed me on just about every quest I've been on so far...The healing is nice, for sure! |

If you don't want her to follow you don't click on her when you come out of the gate. If she does start to follow she usually stops if you don't click on her. If you click on her and get the message she is going to follow you click on her again and she'll stop and wait there.

Dont bother with collecting all the items for Captain Osric, just collect 1 and take it straight to Lady Althea.

Yeah, the fastest and easiest way to do Althea's Gift quest is to find one item (pendent is closest and you can walk to the chest without being attacked) and go straight to Althea for reward. Plus you get to get Rurik in trouble so it's worth it.

I gave Gwen some flowers (in hindsight, I'm guessing 1 might have worked), ... and she said she had others just like it. She then blurbled something about wanting to give me an item that meant a lot to her mom or whatever ... and when I clicked on her a second time, I got the Tapestry Shred. If you try and click on her again after you give her the flower, you'll probably get the Shred too ...
